SOUTHERN PINES, NC—Classical Conversations’ Capstone Cruise is rapidly becoming one of the largest groups to cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines. The number of parents and children booked for the cruise is approaching 900.
Adding to the interest in CC’s largest annual event, Andrew Pudewa, internationally known education speaker, will be joining this year’s cruise May 4-8 on board the Carnival cruise ship Liberty.
While reservations are closed for the on-board graduation ceremony with 120 graduates, cabins are still available for the cruise, although the CC group rate deadline has passed. Last spring about 750 people cruised to the Bahamas, and 97 seniors graduated in the 2019 Classical Conversations Commencement.
“We are simply amazed at how the interest in the cruise and graduation continue to grow year after year,” said Jill True, cruise coordinator. “Classical Conversations is quickly becoming one of the largest groups to cruise with Carnival on an annual basis.”
The fifth-annual cruise will be four nights (five-days) on board the Carnival Liberty cruise ship. The Liberty departs at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 4, from Port Canaveral, Florida, destined for ports in the Bahamas—Nassau and Carnival’s private island, Half Moon Cay—and will return at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 8.
Pudewa will be teaching writing workshops and giving parent talks during the cruise. He is the founder and principal speaker of the Institute for Excellence in Writing and a father of seven. Traveling and speaking around the world, he addresses issues related to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music with clarity, insight, practical experience, and humor.
“Andrew is a wonderful speaker and a great friend to Classical Conversations,” said Classical Conversations’ CEO Robert Bortins. “I am very excited to have him join us on the cruise, and I know that many CC families will look forward to hearing him speak.”
The CC Cruise Team has many new activities planned for the cruise, in addition to the existing cruise activities provided by Carnival. There will be a full slate of CC children’s activities, in addition to workshops, book discussions and activities for adults. Tuesday is commencement, Wednesday is the National Memory Master championship and Thursday is the National Number Knockout championship.
