If you have been debating about whether to attend next month’s Great Homeschool Convention in Cincinnati, debate no longer. Your children can now do their end-of-year achievement testing while you enjoy the convention.
This is the first year that Homeschool Testing Services, a service of Classical Conversations, Inc., has offered administration of the Stanford Achievement Test-10 from Pearson Learning for 3rd-8th-grade students at Great Homeschool Conventions. The SAT-10 is a nationally-accredited, norm-referenced test that has Scbeen taken by millions of students over the years.
“While parents are listening to workshop speakers or browsing through the vendor hall, their children in grades 3-8 can complete their achievement testing under the supervision of a trained testing proctor,” said Scott Whitaker, director of HTS. “This is a very convenient way to get in your end-of-year testing if you live in a state that mandates it, and if you don’t, then this is a great time for your children to gain experience with achievement testing in a safe, nonthreatening environment.”
HTS held a very successful testing event at the GHC in Greenville, South Carolina, last week, according to Whitaker.
This paper and pencil testing event will be held at the Duke Energy Convention Center on April 20-21, 8:30 a.m. to noon, during the Great Homeschool Convention. The cost of the testing is $50 and registration through the website ends April 10. Parents can also register their students at the door on a space-available basis on the first morning of testing, 8-8:30 a.m. Test results should be available before the end of the convention.
