A Brief History of Classical Conversations
In 1997, Leigh Bortins founded the first Classical Conversations community with her boys and several homeschool families local to Winston-Salem, NC. Over the course of the next few years, Leigh fully incorporated the classical, Christian model of education into the Foundations, Essentials, and Challenge programs facilitated by trained parent-tutors and Licensed Directors.
Steadily, Classical Conversations grew to empower thousands of parents to teach their children at home. In 2012, Leigh Bortins handed over the CEO title to her first child and Classical Conversations’ first student, Robert Bortins. Now, with more than 125,000 students in over 50 countries, we’re the largest classical education provider in the world.
Francesca Battistelli Joins Us for Our 25th Anniversary Celebration!
With your registration to our Classical Conversations 25th Anniversary Celebration, your entire family will enjoy a night of entertainment and encouragement on Thursday, April 28 at the National Athletic Village next to our home office in Southern Pines, NC.
Amidst interactive games, party-themed snacks, home office tours, and adventure tours that will take place during the event, you’ll have the chance to meet other Classical Conversations families from around the nation as well as those who work at our home office, including our founder Leigh Bortins and CEO Robert Bortins.
In addition, we are honored to announce that the Grammy award-winning Christian artist Francesca Battistelli will host a live acoustic concert beginning at 7:00 p.m. during this event! Francesca Battistelli is also a Classical Conversations homeschooling parent and recently starred in the movie God’s Not Dead: We the People.
We can’t wait to see you there during this celebration of fellowship and fun!
